Setting Up Classroom for Individuals with Autism

Presenter: Audrey Bivens, M.Ed., BCBA

Participants will learn ways to set up classrooms that cater to the needs of a learner with Autism. This workshop will also address instructional techniques that optimize learning for individuals with Autism.

About the presenter:

Audrey Bivens, M.Ed., BCBA, an educator with over 25 years experience in special education, specializing in autism spectrum disorders as a teacher and in home and parent trainer. She currently works as instructional officer and program supervisor for special education in a large suburban school district where she designed and supervises specialized autism programs.

Visionary and Founder of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Presents a compilation of an interview by Mark Sundberg and reflections of many individuals (Richard Malott, James Carr, Judith Favell, Jim Johnston, Neil Martin, Paolo Moderato, Sharon Chien, Jane Howard, Jose Martinez-Diaz and others) to commemorate Dr. Shook's outstanding contributions to the field of behavior analysis. 8-Hour Supervisor Training: Components of Effective, Evidence-Based Behavior Analytic Supervision

This training will provide instruction that will contribute to the knowledge and skills needed for the effective supervision of individuals who are pursuing BACB certification. Based on the BACB’s current standards for supervision, as of January 1st, 2015, professionals who supervise individuals pursuing BCBA or BCaBA credentialing must complete 8 hours of specialized training that addresses the provision of effective supervision prior to supervising any BACB candidates. Through this training, participants will have the opportunity to learn and demonstrate understanding of: the purpose of supervision; important features of supervision, including a review of the BACB standards; the format and relevance of behavioral skills training; the proper way to deliver performance feedback; approaches for evaluating the effects of supervision; and methods of ongoing professional development for the supervisee. The 8-hour Supervisor Training fulfills the requirement necessary to administer the BACB’s RBT Competency Assessment for those seeking credentialing as a Registered Behavior Technician.This training program is based on the BACB Supervisor Training Curriculum Outline but is offered independent of the BACB.
