Deeper Reflections on Ableism: Deepening Assent Practices Through the Neurodiversity Paradigm

This presentation will explore the application of the neurodiversity paradigm in applied behavior analysis by defining crucial neurodiversity-related terminology and offering reflection strategies for reflecting on ableism in ABA practices. Attendees will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of ableism, the neurodiversity paradigm, and assent terminology. Assent practices and assent data collection will be discussed. Strategies for responding to assent withdrawal will also be discussed.
